01 Course materials with a design system

Produce a matching handout, lecture deck, and rubric without giving any styling instructions.
Claude Design · Tool User · Input: The Equality AI Design System and a short course reading.

  1. Select
  2. Generate
  3. Extend
  4. Export

E1 · CLAUDE DESIGN · COPY-READY

Using the Equality AI Design System, turn the attached reading into a one-page student handout with key terms and three review questions. Then create a matching 5-slide lecture deck and a one-page rubric.

Expected output: Handout (PDF), lecture deck (PowerPoint), and rubric (PDF), all in the same style.

02 Critique-the-draft assignment

An assignment where students evaluate an AI draft instead of copying it.
Claude chat (Artifacts) · Tool User · Input: A short reading and your four-criterion rubric.

  1. Prompt
  2. Preview
  3. Refine
  4. Publish

E2 · ARTIFACTS · COPY-READY

Build an assignment page for my students. Show a one-page AI-written analysis of the attached reading with three hidden weaknesses. Next to it, add my four-criterion rubric so students score the draft, justify each score, and submit a short revision.

Expected output: A published page students open with a link.

06 Assignments that invite AI

Four patterns that preserve critical thinking. Grade the judgment, not the output.

  1. Critique the draft: Get an AI answer and grade it against your rubric (see E2)
  2. AI as red team: Defend a position while AI argues the other side
  3. Show the process: Submit prompts, revisions, and why they changed course
  4. Verify and cite: Fact-check every AI claim against primary sources

07 Anatomy of a strong prompt

Build every prompt from five parts:

  1. Artifact: An interactive critique-the-draft assignment page
  2. Audience: for my upper-level students
  3. Source: based on the attached reading
  4. Constraints: an AI-written draft with three hidden weaknesses, scored with my four-criterion rubric
  5. Extras: publish it with a short title and description for our course resources page

PROMPT TEMPLATE · COPY-READY

Create [artifact] for [audience], based on [source]. Follow these constraints: [constraints]. Also include [extras].

RESPONSIBLE USE

  • Verify the content: Check every claim, date, and citation before students see it.
  • Protect student data: Never upload names, grades, or records covered by FERPA.
